A short FAQ of common questions! Will update as needed.

Q: Do you take requests/commissions/art trades?
A: Not at this time. I will announce in my journal when/if this changes.

Q:Can I use your art for ... ?
A: Please check the Creative Commons License on the art; you can find it at the bottom of the right sidebar, under the "License" heading. I typically use one of these two types of CC licenses:

Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works
This means the art can be used and distributed with attribution; so if you'd like to use it as a song cover on YouTube, or put it on Facebook or your blog, you need to include credit which links back to me (if you want to share on Tumblr, I'd prefer that you reblog from mine). You may NOT sell the art, nor post/distribute any modified versions of the art.

Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike
This means the same as the above, with one difference: you CAN post/distribute modified versions of the art. This means the art can be re-used in your own wallpapers, comics, etc. You'll still need to include credit, and you still can't sell it.

If you want to use the art for something that might violate its license, send me a note to discuss.

Q: What software do you use?
A: Adobe Illustrator for vector work, Photoshop for everything else.

If you're looking for good alternatives, check out Inkscape (or Ponyscape-Vectors) for vectors (for free), and SAI for raster art (30 day trial; price depends on current exchange rate, but around $50).

It looks like WeLoveFine has rescinded their "two wins max" rule, and now there is - once again - no limit to the number of times that a single contestant can win.

This means that my current entries are eligible again, but I still don't intend to be submitting or promoting anything new for the time being.  Since the contest runs nearly all year long, I may try again later on, but for now I'd like to work on different goals.  There are still 16 more silhouette requests on my list after all! Meow :3

Original post:

WeLoveFine recently added (or revealed) a new rule in their MLP season 4 design contest: that no one will be allowed to win more than twice.  This disqualifies both myself and LeekFish from any further victories in the contest.

That's fine by me, though I wish I'd known about it before entering additional art past my second win.  My motivation for entering so frequently was because I'd like to become one of WLF's regular contributors (MFA), and was informed that winning their contests is the way to achieve that.  I'm not sure what happens now to my entries that are still in the rating pool; I contacted WLF about this over a week ago, and have yet to receive any reply.

Either way, seems like I'm done with this contest.  Thank you all very much for your support, and please go vote for any other art you'd like to see on licensed tees! :)

I intended to be a web designer, but have ended up as a professional web developer, programmer, sort-of database and server admin. I love art, design, animation and games.

I've been a follower of your work for quite and some and am ashamed to say that I didn't add to you to my "follow" list sooner.

I was particularly taken by your Silhouette series, and your Luna one has been my "daily driver" on one or two of my devices for a while.

I don't know if my accreditations or qualifications have any weight in commending your work - I'm only a lowly webmaster and developer, but I hope my thumbs up will stand for something.

"Keep Calm and Carry On Being Awesome."

I'm honored to see that someone with your experience has added me to their +watch list. I've seen a few of your pieces before, mainly in a particular contest on welovefine. I'll admit, I was even a bit jealous of some of your vector designs. xP

Anyways, I wish you the best of luck in this current contest, especially with your "Harmony". The tree of harmony is definitely a big part of season four and I believe you've captured it well.

Aw shucks; thanks! :)  I remember several of your WLF entries (Octavia, Big Mac and Rainbow Dash), and found your Sunset Shimmer on EQD a few days ago; your work's great and I must see more! :D
Cool gallery, homio, no messin', straight-up G, dawg.

Sorry if you've already answered this several other times before, but are pieces featuring vectors done exclusively in Illustrator, or is it in conjunction with Photoshop and such?

Thanks! Vector stuff is exclusively in Illustrator.
I need to learn how to shade and highlight exclusively in Illustrator. I do that separately in Photoshop and it's a bit of a hassle.

Thanks for the reply :)

I like to keep everything in vector (no rasterizing it for PS). I gradually transitioned from PS over to full-use of Illustrator though; it takes some getting use to. :)
