Back from vacation in Tokyo.
I caught the Japanese premier of FiM from my hotel room, but I apparently missed the Pokemon Smash where the new Mewtwo appeared! We did make our way over to the Pokemon Center though, which had a lot of shiny Genesect toys at the moment. I also won at the raffle for a shiny Magikarp file folder.
Miku was everywhere. Other Vocaloids too, but mostly Miku. Picked up a PS3 copy of Project Diva F, which I still need to try out.
Joined in the cheerful atmosphere of hanami at Yoyogi Park. Pretty sakura trees were all over Tokyo, but the park had a veritable canopy of them in bloom, softly raining petals over so many picnic gatherings.
Visited Meiji Shrine, which had a moderate amount of tourists, Zojo Ji which had few, and Sensou Ji which was covered in them. Which is not to say Sensou wasn't worth the trip, just that you might think of it more as a shopping district than a temple.
Spent a rainy evening at the movie theater watching One Piece Film Z, then returned to the hotel via sprawling underground subway station tunnels to stay dry. Everything you hear about the convenience of Japanese public transport is true. You are always close to a station, and the trains can take you anywhere and everywhere.
So, now I'm catching up on everything that accumulated in my absence.
